Tips
These tips are meant to help anyone with a helmet pumper. Even if you don't have our system, you can still benefit from these pointers.
- Reduce any sharp bends in the air hoses when possible
- Make sure the filter is getting a constant source of fresh, ambient air
- Keep air filter away from heat sources
- Clean the air filter when it gets dirty. Our filters will withstand a ton of debris, but it's always good to have a clean filter. We've been shocked to see so many people go seasons of riding without cleaning their pumper filter.
- Use hoses that have a smooth internal bore for good flow
- Dark colored hoses can absorb heat, making the air hotter by the time it gets to your helmet
- Never use zip ties on air hoses, they will eventually wear through. Use velcro straps.
- Even though every part of our system is sealed, we don't recommend power washing directly with the nozzle too close.
- Use a switch anf fuse. Most pumper systems power the fan motor directly and wait for the PWM signal to tell it what to do. This parasitic loss can drain a battery over time.
- Mount system as far away from occupants as possible to decrease noise. Our system puts out a tremendous amount of air, so it doesn't have to be right next to you anymore.
